Simulate the epic, earth-shattering power of a volcano in your own home! Build a huge volcano model with a sturdy frame that effortlessly slides together. Wrap the frame in hardening plaster-coated fabric strips and then paint it to look like the real thing. Then, bring your volcano to life with cutouts of dinosaurs and prehistoric trees — this isn’t just any old volcano; this is a model of an extremely ancient and immensely large volcano from the days dinosaurs roamed the planet! When you’re ready for action, simply mix the two non-hazardous powders, dye, and water to create a chemical reaction of flowing red ooze that simulates the molten hot lava flows of a real volcanic eruption. Six packets of chemicals are included, allowing the volcano to be erupted multiple times. The volcano frame enables you to choose between two volcano shapes, with the final model measuring more than one foot tall. A large, full-color scientific poster of a volcano with illustrated instructions and lots of educational information about volcanoes is included. By studying these awe-inspiring and cataclysmic natural phenomena, you can learn more about the inner workings of Earth, learn about the different types of volcanoes and what causes them, and explore volcanoes around the world and how they have affected life on Earth for eons. Get ready to journey back in time and deep beneath Earth’s surface with this fun, hands-on craft project and fascinating science lesson! + Build a giant volcano model from cardboard and plaster; choose from two types of volcanoes. + Decorate with paint, fake boulders, and cardboard cutouts of dinosaurs and prehistoric plants. + Use safe chemical reactions to trigger volcanic eruptions and watch the lava bubble and flow. + Learn all about real-life volcanoes and what causes them. + Includes a full-color volcano poster and instruction sheet

no instructions
missing instructions and the posters. the trees and dinosaurs cut outs literally have to be cut out front the box it’s not perforated and the box isn’t the thinnest. not the easiest task.

Don’t buy this
So much wrong with this volcano… the instructions tell you to build in but then there is no container/cynlinder/bottle in the middle of the volcano for the explosion ingredients to go into… also they give you the smallest amount of black paint (no paint brush) which covers maybe half of the volcano. The whole thing makes no sense, would give a zero star review if I could

This product is nothing like what the box shows.
I am a mom who bought this for my kid’s science project. There is not enough plaster strips to cover the cardboard structure that makes the “volcano.” There is very little paint. We needed to buy loads more paint. It says you need newspaper, so we bought tons of it thinking it was for the paper mache but no- it’s for the mess it makes. The “explosion” looks like moisture flowing down, but there is no explosion.

Does not erupt.
My kids had fun building and decorating this, however it did not erupt! We followed the directions and even added another packet of chemicals w/ more liquid. I think it would have been better to use vinegar and baking soda.

A fun project but requires time
This was a bit of fun to do with the kids on a rainy day. I was hoping some of this is plastic but most is cardboard. You do have to build it and assemble it. You get a cardboard structure then you get this thing called modroc which is plaster bandages which you went and stick on it, when its dry it goes hard. It then can be painted. You get some chemicals with it which I think is bicarbonate of soda which causes a reaction. It was fun but because you have to let it dry , it can't be built and erupted in one day. It is also a very big volcano. Kids still liked it. Wish I was round to see the eruption but they decided to take it to school and show the class instead.
